"'What' and ‘if’, two words as nonthreatening as words come. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: ‘What if?'
I don't know how your story ended. But I know that if what you felt then was love - true love - then it's never too late. If it was true then, why wouldn't it be true now? You need only the courage to follow your heart.
I don't know what a love like that feels like...a love to leave loved ones for, a love to cross oceans for...but I'd like to believe if I ever felt it, I'd have the courage to seize it. I hope you had the courage to seize it, Claire. And if you didn't, I hope one day that you will."
I just came back from Qatar. After talking to the doctor from Shubra on my right about how smart Yemenis are, and looking at Elissa blow her nose on my left, i decided to watch a film. I've always had a thing for Shakespeare; when i found a 'Qatar Airways Recommend' film titled Letters to Juliet, my choice was made for me.
Ok, so with every minute of the film, you know what will happen next. But pathetically and desperately, you will wait. And you want to see it. The movie is saved by Vanessa Redgrave. She's classy, confidant, and doesn't look like she's acting. Her reunited lost love is played perfectly by Franco Nero who commands the screen even though his part is small (their obvious chemistry is for real; they were in love in the sixties, parted, and only recently reunited and married)!
Anyway, all this post is about those two simple words (put together with a question mark at the end).
