Ce tre cool: PLEASE TAKE ME OFF THE GUEST LIST

The title of this book caught my eye for one main reason: i live in Cairo. If you've ever lived and partied in Cairo you'll catch my drift.

PLEASE TAKE ME OFF THE GUESTLIST is exactly what you want to read if you have a sardonic mean streak. It’s like separate books within the book about the adventures of Zachary Lipez. His essays (they're more like extended thoughts) about his life as a druggie, player, struggling artist and self-loathing adolescent are tre cool. I didn’t get the chance to read the whole thing, but it defiantly got me hooked.

This book is the latest in a series that he and a couple of friends, New York artists Nick Zinner and Stacey Wakefield, have worked on together. Zinner’s photographs (lots of party snapshots), from the band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, are part of the story, helping pull everything together.

Cool gift for an artsy friend if you're Christmas shopping.
