People who knew their sh*t

Ants are so much like human beings as to be an embarrassment. They farm fungi, raise aphids as livestock, launch armies into war, use chemical sprays to alarm and confuse enemies, capture slaves, engage in child labour, exchange information ceaselessly. They do everything but watch television.

We need to find beauty in everything

He’s been called a mad poet, an eccentric painter, and a simplistic philosopher, but to those who have had the privilege to read his original and abstract literary works, he is a genius, and a super cool dude who knew his shit. Who is this remarkable intellect? The one and only, William Blake, the sole inspiration that jumpstarted my journalistic career and opened my world to seek a deeper meaning to everything.

For Blake, the only life that mattered was the life of the mind, the flourishing of the imagination, and visions of paradise. What he saw, wrote, and felt, were more real than the trees we see and the people we meet; it is not what we see that is important, it’s how we see it. Blake was aware of all the natural beauties of the world, and he pushed me to actually see the evening star, the sunrise, the importance of laughter from the heart, and most importantly, the eternal feeling of hope that things are much more beautiful then they seem.

“Pity would be no more,

If we did not make somebody Poor;

And Mercy no more could be,

If all were as happy as we;

And mutual fear brings peace,

Till the selfish loves increase;

Then Cruelty knits a snare,

And spreads his baits with care.

He sits down with holy fears,

And waters the ground with tears;

Then Humility takes its root

Underneath his foot.

Soon spreads the dismal shade

Of Mystery over his head;

And the Caterpillar and Fly

Feed on the Mystery.

And it bears the fruit of Deceit,

Ruddy and sweet to eat;

And the Raven his nest has made

In its thickest shade.

The Gods of the earth and sea,

Sought through Nature to find this Tree,

But their search was all in vain;

There grows one in the Human Brain.”

- The Human Abstract, Songs of Experience, William Blake

I refuse to think of our negative traits as our downfall; in an ideal world of universal happiness and genuine love, there would be no need for them. The human mind is what is keeping us back, because from it all unnatural values have been born, and continue to evolve.

We need to control our minds: what they think and where they take us.
We need our search not to be in vain.
We need to find beauty in everything.

Trading up

Cuddly, low maintenance and giving, are only some of the things a pet has to offer you. They ask for nothing in return. Unlike partners. Having a boyfriend/girlfriend is a demanding job. With pets it's smooth sailing; all you have to do is take care of their hygiene, eating and dala3 habits. So why not trade up?

The pet you choose is up to you. The key to having a satisfied relationship with your pet is to find the type(s) of pets that are right for you. Whether you like dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles or rodents, you should choose a pet based on what sort of animal suits your personality and works best with your lifestyle.

Dogs- Loyal, good listeners, easy to train- perfect, almost better than humans.
Cats- Low maintenance, independent and tenkeen- no good for cuddly entertainment.
Fish- Quiet, serene and require some work- fun huh?
Birds- Noisy companions and fun to watch- only good for temporary distraction.
Reptiles- Umm low maintenance, super friendly and very very cuddly- I don’t feel the need to comment on reptiles .
Rodents- Entertaining (somewhat), cute, and low maintenance- could help keep your mind off a not so consuming love affair, getting over a fling maybe.

My advice: go for a dog. Cats, hamsters, rabbits, snakes and cockroaches are no good when it comes to giving you some lovin. That’s why you got them in the first place.

Keep it simple

They had it right all along. Life is simple. They eat, they mate, they sleep, they drink, they protect, they move, they love, and they look more attractive in images than we do.

Fashion needs an edge; get playful with your bags

Oh so pweeety. Too bad you'll need another bag to put your wallet, perfume, lipstick, ciggies, lighter, notebook, pen, gum, hand sanitizer, boyfriends keys, boyfriends wallet, annoying bangle, and stolen goods in.

Fashion needs an edge; steal it from your man

I just don’t like the way most women’s sweaters and shirts are cut to accentuate the
waist and bust-line. It’s not my style.

Steal your boyfriends sweaters and shirts, add a thin belt, leggings and slouchy boots. Pick comfy over couture.

Chocolate & Cigarette Living

Electric blue rays & dancing red sandstorms

Blue needs to cover red sometimes.

The storms bring back the sunshine,
desires just like mine.
Giving life to thirsty lands,
a life started in his hands.

Colors dance and rhyme,
songs of a life that is mine.
In a musical tune that's going to keep playing,
till the end of time.

Blue needs to cover red sometimes,
Electric blue rays and dancing red sandstorms,
only allowed to play at select times.
